José Luis Pérez Navarro (1961) was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and currently resides in Tenerife. He is primarily a painter, though works with photography as well. In his paintings, the Canarian landscape and its elements are the predominant subjects, characterized by an immense light. In his latest paintings his interest has focused on built nature or the park. His works have been exhibited in the Canary Islands, the Peninsula, France, Italy, Portugal and New York, and are part of the collections of the La Caixa Foundation, the Atlantic Center for Modern Art (CAAM), the AENA Foundation, TEA Tenerife Espacio de the Arts and the Parliament and Government of the Canary Islands, among others.
