Espacio P was formed in October 1981, at number 11 of the centric Núñez de Arce street, next to Santa Ana square in Madrid. During its first year it was a place for rehearsals and training in all kinds of practices related to the body. Later, its founder, the multifaceted multimedia artist Pedro Garhel, turned it into a place open to dialogue between the plastic, visual, scenic and sound arts.
